Angel Diaz, the artist behind YNOTngl.com, was born in Iquitos, Peru. His passion for drawing and depicting everyday objects and imaginary worlds began at a young age. Through travel and cultural experiences, he developed a keen eye for observation, refining his artistic skills. Rejecting the angst of conventional art, he explored new ways to represent traditional imagery, using materials often overlooked by other artists.
After studying plastic arts in Peru and attending the School of Visual Arts in New York, Diaz settled in the city in 1986, where he continues to challenge artistic boundaries. His diverse works blend materials, methods, and concepts, reflecting a dynamic, contemporary style without rigid ideologies. Diaz’s art explores identity, values, and beliefs in a globalized, ever-evolving world, inviting viewers to contribute their own reflections.
His works, which embrace various media and technologies, encourage a rethinking of what art can be. Free from categorization, his art asks questions about the past, present, and future. Diaz’s pieces are part of 11th on 50th, on view in Midtown, Manhattan, from December 5th to January 30th. Email info@eleventhhourart.com for inquiries or to shop.
