Eleventh Hour Art is thrilled to announce The Promise of Spring, the sophomore exhibition at our newly opened Midtown gallery at 18 E 50th Street. As nature prepares for its own transformation, so do we. This exhibition invites us to pause, reflect, and manifest our future, allowing art to serve as a bridge between where we've been and where we’re going.
The works explore the fluid connection between two realms: the fantastical and the real. They delve into the way the natural world intertwines with our constructed environments, and the ethereal beauty that can emerge even within the confines of everyday life.
Sculptures of human figures are placed upon heavy, hand-carved wooden bases made from ancient, naturally fallen redwood trees, drawing attention to the deep connection between humanity and the natural world.
Large-scale canvases weave celestial imagery with familiar objects, transforming the human form into something dreamlike. These works challenge our perceptions of value and beauty, asking how we understand what’s real, what’s precious, and what we’re willing to hold on to.
Eleventh Hour Art originated in Brooklyn Heights and is the lighthouse that will always guide us back home. Opening our second location in Midtown has pushed us to examine the liminal space of two worlds converging. We have expanded conceptually, spatially and creatively. Our new gallery sits directly across from St. Patrick’s cathedral, facing the towering windows of stained glass and spires. The Promise of Spring seeks to explore the idea of the evolution of spirituality, the intersection of the divine, the natural, and the mortal, and the questions: what do we leave behind? What do we allow to emerge?
