Yung-wu (영우) is a self-taught abstract artist based in the Hudson Valley. Heavily influenced by her upbringing in New York City and South Korean heritage, her work centers around the exploration of identity and fluidity of memory. Each and every work is created intuitively with Yung-wu utilizing a variety of unconventional tools, such as cardboard, battery packaging, and other found objects. Her process is a balance of spontaneity and intentionality, taking in the moment and translating that onto canvas.
Yung-wu’s work continues to gain recognition in solo and group exhibitions across New York and Connecticut. Her upcoming exhibitions include Booth A15 at the Affordable Art Fair NYC March 19-23 and a solo exhibition at Eleventh Hour Art in September 2025.
