YUYAKE (Burning Sky) : In the indigenous Shinto religion, the world is believed to be inhabited by myriad kami (gods or spirits). Clouds often play a role as dwelling places or vehicles for these deities. In some legends, clouds act as chariots for the gods, indicating their arrival or departure. A gathering of thick, dark clouds might signify the presence of a powerful deity or the onset of an important celestial event.
